One Step You Should Take Today

One Step You Should Take Today

One step you should take today is to write out on a calendar or in a planner all of your personal and business commitments for the month.

This includes:

🤓 Kids’ activities
🤓 Kids’ appointments
🤓 Your appointments
🤓 Significant other’s appointments
🤓 Scheduled calls
🤓 Client deadlines
🤓 Scheduled meetups
🤓 Events (lives, workshops, masterclasses)
🤓 School schedules

By taking the time (it never takes as long as you think it will) to do this, you instantly see where you may be filling up TOO much of your schedule, what you might’ve otherwise overlooked, or where you have availability (or space to enjoy).

I started by doing this weekly. It felt easier to me to write out my week than trying to tackle an entire month. Then, I tried a month and realized it wasn’t as daunting as I initially thought, and it really helped me accommodate other things or see when I could say yes or no to requests.

From there, I got bold and moved into writing out an entire quarter. OooOoo-WEE! It allowed me to leave intentional spaces open for connection with my family, my friends, and myself.

Now, writing out the bones of a year sometimes takes less time than writing out my week used to take. Boy, does that make me giggle!

Breaking it down into weeks still helps me juggle homeschooling, client tasks, and my own business elements into more manageable chunks, but that overall picture is the bee’s knees for dreaming, planning, and executing.

It may seem unnecessary or even a trivial step in the grand scheme of things, but getting those pieces out of your head into moveable items really helps you begin to visualize, create, and hone in on your overall goals much better.

Give it a go, and let me know what you find as you do!

Keeping Old or Creating New Traditions

Keeping Old or Creating New Traditions

What’s your take: are you for keeping old or creating new traditions?

When thinking of traditions, immediately something passed through the ages pops into mind.

However, traditions have to start somewhere!

Whether you are carrying on traditions from generations in your family or your significant other’s or starting ones for your kids to continue, the important thing to remember is that the emotions tied to each tradition is what helps make it one that lasts.

Every time I make cookies for the neighborhood with my kiddos, I have flashbacks to the kitchen I grew up in and the neighbors I walked around and handed ours out to.

Each time I successfully get produce from my garden, my grandma’s “bless her little heart” is heard in my head.

When my kids are able to spend time with their cousins laughing and playing, I see the many moments I shared with my own cousins growing up creating that unbreakable bond.

Traditions don’t need to be tied to a holiday (though they often are). They just need to create that connections to special memories that then get linked to NEW special memories so the cycle keeps turning.

What is a tradition you have in your family?

Remember, PAVE your way.

Merry Memory Making

Merry Memory Making

When we spend time with the ones we love during festive times, the merry memory making tops the list for the reason of the season.

We made some cards together for a friend’s kiddo who wanted to receive his own mail.

It didn’t take long, but it was fun, and we all sat together figuring out spelling, designs, and color combinations.

Baking and cooking together is a family favorite, as well as art projects whether they are regular everyday options or matching a holiday theme.

Whatever way you choose to spend that time together, just make sure you do. In little spurts or longer stretches. They all make a big impact and a difference.

Your favorites memories may be VASTLY different from your children’s favorite memories. So let them have plenty to choose from.

Also, remember that they don’t have to be expensive, elaborate, extravagant, or even anything monumentally out of the norm.

They just have to be meaningful.

Enjoy each other’s company even on the days that you drive each other up the wall… those are likely the days you’ll need it the most. <3

What are some ways you like to make memories with your kiddos — especially around the holidays??

Remember, PAVE your way.

Relationship between kids and dogs

I’ve been around dogs my entire life. For me, they’re a part of the family that I enjoy having around. That didn’t stop me from worrying about how our dogs would respond to a baby coming into the house. We did several things to prepare for the arrival of our first baby. As our son grew, there were several more things that we did to foster a positive relationship between our son and our dogs. I thought I’d share a few of the things we did to help their relationship.
