Nobody has it all figured out

Scrolling through and reading posts from people you follow can sometimes make it seem like others have figured out some “secret” to business success.

Here’s my little secret: Nobody has it figured out.

No matter how put together they seem, how successful they appear, or how confident they sound… they’re working on something, they’re trying something new, they’re doubting a decision they made, or they’re wondering what could be better.

When they say, “You should do this,” what they’re really saying is, “This is what worked for me – give it a go!” They’re simply sharing with you what they have had success with in case it may help.

If you already know it doesn’t work for your business, then that’s okay! It shouldn’t make you feel like you’re doing something wrong.

Different platforms mean there are different techniques to attract an audience and different ways to sell. I have tried SO many… SO many I probably can’t even count.

I’ve been part of teams who have completely different methods. And each works for them.

Don’t be afraid to try.
Put yourself out there.
Find what works for you and your business.

Embrace when you don’t know, are learning, and gather data to keep growing.

To help you navigate more business growth YOUR WAY, the Your Steady Ground Masterclass leads you with videos and workbooks. Being BRAVE is just a click away: https://members.momelevated.com/sales-your-steady-ground-masterclass/

What A CEO Mindset Is According to My Kids

What A CEO Mindset Is According to My Kids

Affiliate - When it's Time to Add a Team Member

As you move into business ownership, your mindset needs to shift to that of a CEO. What does that mean?? Here’s what a CEO Mindset is according to my kids…

I asked each of my three kids what it means to have a CEO mindset. Let’s see what they had to say…
My 9-year-old says, “You own your mindset. You own your own thoughts.”
My 5-year-old says, “You own a business. It would be pretty obnoxious.” Her sister clarified: “I get it, I get it. Sometimes you have too many thoughts, and then it gets obnoxious.”
My 13-year-old says, “You have to be smart.”
They’re young, and they get it. To a point. When you have to be smart all the time, own your own thoughts, and have so many thoughts that sometimes it gets obnoxious, you need to have ways to keep those thoughts from overwhelming you constantly.
Don’t just take my kids’ words for it, Peter Diamandis hit the nail on the head with this quote:Your mindset matters. It affects everything – from the business and investment decisions you make, to the way you raise your children, to your stress levels and overall well-being.

One Step You Should Take Today

One Step You Should Take Today

Affiliate - When it's Time to Add a Team Member

One step you should take today is to write out on a calendar or in a planner all of your personal and business commitments for the month.

This includes:

🤓 Kids’ activities
🤓 Kids’ appointments
🤓 Your appointments
🤓 Significant other’s appointments
🤓 Scheduled calls
🤓 Client deadlines
🤓 Scheduled meetups
🤓 Events (lives, workshops, masterclasses)
🤓 School schedules

By taking the time (it never takes as long as you think it will) to do this, you instantly see where you may be filling up TOO much of your schedule, what you might’ve otherwise overlooked, or where you have availability (or space to enjoy).

I started by doing this weekly. It felt easier to me to write out my week than trying to tackle an entire month. Then, I tried a month and realized it wasn’t as daunting as I initially thought, and it really helped me accommodate other things or see when I could say yes or no to requests.

From there, I got bold and moved into writing out an entire quarter. OooOoo-WEE! It allowed me to leave intentional spaces open for connection with my family, my friends, and myself.

Now, writing out the bones of a year sometimes takes less time than writing out my week used to take. Boy, does that make me giggle!

Breaking it down into weeks still helps me juggle homeschooling, client tasks, and my own business elements into more manageable chunks, but that overall picture is the bee’s knees for dreaming, planning, and executing.

It may seem unnecessary or even a trivial step in the grand scheme of things, but getting those pieces out of your head into moveable items really helps you begin to visualize, create, and hone in on your overall goals much better.

Give it a go, and let me know what you find as you do!

5 Lessons I Learned When I Reached Consistent $5k Months

5 Lessons I Learned When I Reached Consistent $5k Months

Affiliate - When it's Time to Add a Team Member

I fondly remember how happy I was making $300 a month in my business when I started out.

I also remember how impossible it felt to get beyond $1k.

But ten years of hard work, dedication, trial and error, and switching gears here and there… I reached $5k months consistently.

Here are 5 lessons I learned when I reached consistent $5k months:

Set, maintain, and check your boundaries.

I always thought I had fine boundaries. But I was a people-pleaser, so once I started REALLY looking at things, honestly, no, ma’am. I stunk at it. Any that I did “set” were broken almost always broken or crossed because of me, too. It’s me; I’m the problem. That glimpse allowed me to start taking it seriously and working on it regularly. If things feel like they’re becoming overwhelming, it’s likely because I’ve let my boundaries slip and need to replace them again.

Selling services for pennies is JUST as difficult as selling them for dollars.

Look, there was a time I didn’t buy into this statement, BUT it is true. It takes time, effort, and alignment to make it happen—the right clients, the right delivery, etc. I will also say selling for pennies sometimes gives you the lessons and experience to make you confident enough to share the results you provide to then sell for dollars.

Mindset matters.

There’s no doubt that how you think affects your actions. The narrative you feed yourself every day will impact all other pieces. Will you always be happy-go-lucky? No, of course not. But you need to learn to acknowledge and release or reframe your thoughts so you can move forward… inching ever closer to your goals.

Integrity is worth the effort.

Never underestimate the power of keeping your word. If you say you will do something, it’s simple. Do it. Things happen and come up, of course, but be honest about it and don’t promise things without knowing you can deliver on said promise. I rarely even promise my kids anything because if I say it’s happening, I’m doing everything in my power to keep that promise. And, if possible, I’ll try to exceed the expectations on some aspect of what I crossed my heart about.

Being able to breathe and release becomes essential.

As mentioned in point #3, it’s important to feel your feelings and let them go. Elsa would be so proud. While I’m a firm believer that business IS personal; that doesn’t mean feedback is to be taken personally. As you process information and improve on your ability to take it in, filter it, and release some of the emotion shrouding it, you will see growth follow.

Which do you identify most with in this list or most need to work on?

Hiring A Team And Affirming Your Decisions

Hiring A Team And Affirming Your Decisions

Affiliate - When it's Time to Add a Team Member

When you begin hiring a team and affirming your decisions, it can be incredibly intimidating and sometimes a bit terrifying.

“What if I HIRE a team member and it doesn’t work?” – Me when hiring my first team member and really at EVERY pivotal moment in my life.
You overanalyze and find a justification for just about any and every thought that rolls through your mind – positive or negative.
Part of you WANTS to trust that with SUPPORT and more TIME BACK your business will soar.
You want to trust your gut and push past the limitations of doing everything yourself.
–but part of you shudders at the idea of handing off your hard work to someone else to take care of and complete.
  • Will it be how you want it done?
  • Will it be MORE work for you in the long run?
As you grow, will any balls be dropped or can you keep up?
  • Is it still going to sound like you and will you provide the same value??
  • Will you feel like a fraud if someone else is doing some of the heavy lifting?
I won’t lie to you…
There’s ALWAYS a RISK involved of the UNKNOWN…
–but there’s one thing I do know. The hardest part is the first step in every scenario.
AND DEEP in your gut, you know that this IS the thing keeping you from growing and scaling your business with less stress.
You won’t ever know if you don’t try.
And once you do try, you can make adjustments when you discover what does work. Ask yourself, “What if it does work?”
Can you trust that you can handle any further steps once you accept the next level of movement and PROFIT in your business?
AFFIRM it for yourself below, “I deserve to be supported by a dream team – and I trust myself to make more money with less stress and grow.”

Perspectives Shape Our Reality

Perspectives Shape Our Reality

Affiliate - When it's Time to Add a Team Member

When we go through different experiences, our perspectives shape our reality.

Whether you watch Bridgerton or not, the Queen Charlotte season is one everyone could learn something from.
There’s a valuable lesson of how our perspective can be very short-sighted. I won’t give away everything, but I am probably going to give a bit of a spoiler, so fair warning.
What I loved most about the fact that you got to see what happened from both sides of the relationship was that it allowed you to FEEL what each person felt during their loneliness, longing, and deep love.
To one it seemed deceitful, but mostly because the arrangement worked and she fell head over heels.
To the other it seemed like a trap because he was destined to get lost to his illness yet he couldn’t resist her stubborn intelligence.
But the adjustment period of secrets and trying to protect or pretend showed you just how one person can be going through hell and back without realizing it. And while that someone is fighting demons, the other person is feeling jilted, hurt, rejected, confused, and getting angrier by the moment.
Once the truth is revealed, all those emotions are stripped away.
How completely spot on is that notion? Our perception of any situation is based solely on our experience. Feelings are rarely based on facts.
What’s helpful is having someone to shift your perception and give you a different perspective to consider.
Do you have someone who does that for you (in business or otherwise)? Tell me who they are or if this type of person would be able to help you move forward with more ease.
