The other day, I was feeling like a pretty bad mom.
From the minute we woke up, it was go-time for taking the tiny one to the sitter’s, doing school, running errands, going to our appointments, then following up with working until 2:30 am to get my client work completed as promised.

When we’re raising our white flag, sometimes it’s hard not checking out too.
After a long day, a long week, goodness, a long month, allll we really want is to relax, regroup, think of nothing, and do nothing.
That’s okay. We simply must keep in mind that we need to not check out when our kiddos need us. That doesn’t mean fix the mom-hearing (you have to know what I’m talking about here).

How do you see vulnerability: strength or weakness? The view on being vulnerable has been taking a bit of a turn lately, from what I’ve seen.
Where it used to be commonplace to “suck it up” or not overshare, we are realizing the impact of those decisions.
While I admittedly have a sign that says “suck it up, buttercup” on my bookshelf, I try to convey the importance of voicing your opinion and feelings in this house. Consequences are part of the “suck it up” portion in my eyes.
